YMBA CODE OF CONDUCT POLICY STATEMENT

The goal of the YMBA (Young Men’s Baseball Association) is to provide a fun, rewarding,      

and quality young men’s baseball program. Our core values are fairness, respect, responsibility, trustworthiness and good citizenship. We strive for the highest standards 

of sportsmanship as detailed in the following Code of Conduct. 

Every participant has a responsibility to comply with and enforce the provisions of the Code. 

To accomplish these goals, each player and coach must sign the Code of Conduct 

before any player can participate in the program. 

By signing the Code of Conduct, each participant agrees to comply with the Code 

and acknowledges that any failure to comply with any provision of the Code 

could lead to disciplinary action. 

YMBA PLAYER’S CODE OF CONDUCT

The Young Men’s Baseball Association (YMBA) expects players to behave 

in a sportsmanlike manner. 

The following list represents a limited set of guidelines for conduct. 

​

• I will be respectful and courteous to umpires, coaches, players, and fans

• I will not taunt, ridicule or argue with any umpire, coach, player, or fan 

• I will not use abusive or vulgar language 

• I will not engage in disruptive or inappropriate behavior 

• I will not hurt or attempt to hurt any other person

• I will not throw my bat, batting helmet or any other piece of equipment 

• I will not use alcohol, tobacco or any other drug anywhere in the baseball complex 

where I am participating as a player or spectator in a YMBA game. 

As a YMBA Player, I affirm that I have read, understand and agree to comply with the 

YMBA Code of Conduct, including the guidelines summarized above. I understand my responsibilities and the consequences if I do not comply with the Code of Conduct.

I, _________________________________________ consent for my son/daughter, to participate in the YMBA. I further approve the following waiver: I agree and acknowledge that participating in the game of baseball at the Spain Park, Vestavia, Trussville, Heardmont, and Rickwood baseball fields does involve some risk of bodily harm. 

I hereby authorize and agree to release The City of Hoover, The City of Vestavia, The City of Trussville, Shelby County, The YMBA, and all umpires from any and all claims and demands made on behalf of the above signed player with regard to injury. 

I further agree to hold harmless the YMBA, the above mentioned parks and cities, and the YMBA Board of Directors from any and all insurance claims.
